How to play
Pick the 6 teams that score their first goal latest.
- Pick 6 of the 36 teams.
- Think late. You want the teams whose first goal comes latest.
- Lock in before picks close, 10 minutes before kick off.
- Follow live, then see your score out of 6.
Anyone can guess who scores first. Can you spot who leaves it late?

Which 36 teams?
- Every team kicks off at the same time, usually Saturday 3pm or a midweek evening. Times can differ around Christmas and Easter.
- Home teams are listed in this order: Premier League, Championship, League One, League Two, National League, National League Cup, National League North/South, then the FA Cup and EFL Cup when they're played at the same time.
- If there aren't 36 home teams, away teams fill the gaps in the same order.
- There are always 36 teams.
How is a team scored?
- A team's score is the minute of its first goal.
- Stoppage time is added on: 45+3 = 48, 90+5 = 95. Extra-time goals count, but penalty shoot-outs don't.
- Own goals don't count. A team has to score its own goal.
- No goal = 0. A team that doesn't score can never be a winning team.
What wins?
- The 6 teams with the latest first goals are the winning 6.
- Your score is how many of your picks are in the winning 6.
- Ties: if teams tie on the same minute for 6th place, any of them counts as correct.
- If fewer than 6 teams score, nobody can get 6/6.
Example: A, B, C, D and E score late, then F and G both score first in the 75th minute. Picking A–E plus either F or G scores 6/6.
Ranking
- Matchday rank: highest score first. On the same score, whoever last saved their picks earliest ranks higher.
- You'll see your overall place and your place among players with the same score.
Postponed games
- If a game is called off before kick off, that team is swapped for the next team in line, and your pick moves with it. You can still change it while picks are open.
- Moved picks keep your original entry time.
- If a game is called off after kick off, that team counts as no goal.
Prizes
- Some matchdays are sponsored, with prizes for certain scores, e.g. 6/6 or 5/6.
- If more players reach a prize score than there are prizes, the earliest entries win.
- Prizes are for registered players aged 18+ with a verified email. Full terms are on each sponsored matchday.
- Goal Time is a game of skill and free to play. You never pay to enter.
Points, leaderboards and leagues
| Score | 0–5/6 | 6/6 |
|---|---|---|
| Points | 1 per correct pick | 10 |
- Leaderboards: weekly, monthly, season and all time. Ties go to whoever has more 6/6s, then more 5/6s, and so on.
- Create a league and invite your mates with a link. Once picks close, league members can see each other's picks.
- Leaderboards and leagues are for registered players only.
Streaks
- Played streak: matchdays played in a row.
- Winning streak: matchdays in a row with at least 1 correct pick.
Fair play
- One entry per person per matchday.
- We may remove entries or accounts that break the rules (see Terms).
